Tefillin inspection by a certified Sofer STaM. The basic service (400 ILS) includes checking the parchments (shel rosh and shel yad) for intact letters without cracks or fading, checking the batim and their stitching, and a general condition check. According to halacha, tefillin presumed valid do not strictly require regular checking, but it is proper to check them twice every seven years - and if not worn regularly, they should be checked twice every seven years lest they have deteriorated (Chayei Adam, based on Shulchan Aruch Orach Chayim 39:10). If the inspection finds a need to replace straps, or repair damage to the batim or stitching, this carries an additional cost beyond the basic inspection price, depending on the scope of repair needed - we will confirm the exact cost with you before any repair.
